Employment Specialist / Recruiter

• Establishing recruiting requirements by studying employer job orders and attending employer meetings
• Recruiting business clients and acquiring talent for them
• Building talent pool by forming relationships with other workforce agencies, community- based organizations, colleges, employment agencies, etc.
• Scheduling and executing job readiness workshops as required by the department
• Maintaining rapport with businesses and referral organizations
• Creating assessment materials to ensure suitability of a candidate's talents for a given employer
• Meeting monthly placement and talent acquisition quotas
• Ensuring fulfillment of contractual obligations by recruiting business clients who will hire WIOA and/or others funders registrants from workforce agencies and maintaining a balance of universal candidates to ensure employer job orders are successfully met
• Determining applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants and verifying references
• Assisting with general orientation sessions
• Implementing prescreening sessions to prepare candidates for applications and the hiring process
• Preparing monthly performance reports and other documents as needed by the department
• Verifying employment retention at 30, 90, 180 and 365 days and as further necessary
• Assisting candidates with preparation of their resumes, mock interviews, and online applications
• Facilitate Job Readiness classes
• Coordinating services with our case manager to ensure all eligible placements are enrolled into the appropriate workforce funds
• Reaching out to business and employment agencies to develop short-term labor, paid internships, job shadowing opportunities, and permanent employment for our program participants
• Keeping Career Connect, and all other required tracking systems up to date
• Providing post-placement retention services to participants and employers through a responsive schedule of follow-up services
• Tracking participants’ progress in the workplace through regular communication with employers and participants
• Accompanying participants to job fairs and job interviews
• Maintaining and disseminating current listings of job opening opportunities at each site
• Providing coaching to participants for successful job retention and career advancement
• Attending meetings and trainings as necessary
• Work on special employment and business services projects as assigned by management
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of related work experience and education preferred
• Outreach and recruitment experience required
• Ability to meet performance quotas as required by funders and Instituto
• Interpersonal communication skills and the ability to relate to both employers and employment seeking customers
• Ability to maintain a high sense of confidentiality
• Experience interacting with businesses and community-based organizations
• Bilingual in English and Spanish required
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Above average customer service attitude
• Ability to be a team player and willingness to take on multiple tasks at once
• Exceptional organization and time management skills
• Ability to adhere to deadlines and manage unpredictable changes effectively
• Skills with Microsoft Office software, Learning Management System, Career Connect, CRM, Social Media, and the Internet
